Does Pinterest have you believing you can paint your own furniture in a snap? Well, you can - that’s how I got started. However, it doesn’t exactly happen in a snap! There’s a lot to know before you take a paintbrush to Grandma’s credenza, but I’m here to help! I’ve been painting furniture for over 11 years. I officially started Rabbit + The Oak five years ago. I’ve been selling my own painted furniture creations full time ever since. I’d love to share all I’ve learned over the years with you. Whether you are a beginner, a novice, or well-practiced, my furniture painting workshops have something for everyone. In this Furniture Painting for Beginners Workshop, we will explore all the basics of furniture painting. This class covers the basics of how to prepare your piece, basic painting techniques, and how to seal and protect your piece with wax. This class is perfect for you if you’ve never painted furniture, or have some experience but still have a lot of questions and need some hands on guidance. We'll cover: - Understanding what furniture can/cannot be painted and why. This is a ‘must know’ before you take up a brush. - What makes furniture chalk paint so unique and ideal for furniture painting. What to use/what not to use, and why. - Common beginner mistakes and how to avoid them. - I’ll share and provide my favorite tools and products including paint, brushes, wax, cleaners etc. - Dive in start painting your own furniture. What to expect: - Introduction & general furniture painting overview - Tips for a successful workshop and a successful piece - Demonstration and tips for applying your first layer of paint - Furniture painting time with 1:1 coaching and guidance along the way - Tutorials and practice for applying second layer, sanding and waxing your piece - Demonstrations on different technique - Instruction on using different materials to achieve desired outcomes - Open Q&A and troubleshooting throughout - Clean up and admire your work and your piece made new again! This workshop is a maximum of 4 hours and is move at your own pace.

All workshops and classes are non-refundable once booked or registered, regardless of whether you attend or not. If you cancel within 48 hours of the class start time, you may attend THE NEXT workshop (of the same level) at no additional cost. Make up classes expire within 45 days. If a workshop is canceled by Rabbit + The Oak, you may attend any future workshop within one year of the purchase date at no additional cost and at your convince. Prior registration is still required. Full payment is due at the time of registration. Class schedules will be released one month in advance so check our calendar of events often!
