Ever wonder why chalk paint is preferred by furniture artists around the world? What makes it so special? In this workshop you’ll get to experiment with chalk paint as well as other types of paint to compare the results and see for yourself! You’ll experience the versatility and advantages of chalk paint using basic starter techniques from start to finish. In this two hour workshop, you’ll start off by creating multiple sample boards to get the “feel” of chalk paint, learn the basic do’s +don’t’s and how to troubleshoot common mistakes that all beginners experience at some point. With that knowledge under your belt, you’ll advance to create bigger and better sample boards that will prepare you for taking brush to furniture. You’ll choose your own colors and favorite technique that you learned earlier in the class. What’s better - these sample boards can be used again in a later workshop to create your own unique wall art to bring home as a reminder of all you accomplished and encourage you to keep going! This workshop is recommended for anyone new to furniture painting or those who have only worked with other paint products and want to expand + enhance their skill. I strongly advise you to take this class before any of my other furniture painting workshops if you don’t have working knowledge of painting with chalk paint yet. Even in the Furniture Painting for Beginners workshop, we dive right into painting furniture and will not go over the basics covered in this Intro to Chalk Paint class. Set yourself up for success and start here with this class! - All materials are included in this class. - Wear your painting clothes! Smocks are provided but accidents happen and this paint will NOT come out of your clothes.
